Just an honest disagreement between two parties, one that wants to count everyone's vote and one that desperately does not. Both sides deserve your respect.

Yeah that’s insane. We have one per 20k people in my county, two within a mile and a half of my house.

(And we have a republican governor)

+2 since yesterday's post! Mods, are there a lot of new users registering?

Also, to be clear, I am not going "towards the right". Just running away from this.
Fascinating.

What's the reasoning given for limiting polling locations? It's hard to see an upside.

When your party does better with fewer people voting, making it harder to vote is an upside.

Harder for poor and working class voters, easier for wealthy retirees.

I don't know what the public messaging is (I imagine if pressed it would be something about funding and making sure each voting location is secure), but that's the clear upside.

Right, but usually when politicians are doing something scummy they have a made up justification for it.

This is about as good an explanation as was ever given. :|
Abbott described his proclamation as an effort to “strengthen ballot security protocols throughout the state.” A spokesperson did not respond to questions about how allowing multiple drop-off locations might lead to fraud.

If we make it easier to vote, there will be widespread voter fraud!

I'm hoping I see my Trump supporting neighbor outside so I can point to his Trump signs and tell him I like his Halloween decorations.

Things aren't all so gloomy in Harris county, though. There are much more early voting locations available, as well as extended hours.
The Harris County Clerk’s Office provided more voter access than ever before, tripling the number of early voting centers from just over 40 in 2016 to 122 this November. Visit http://www.HarrisVotes.com/Locations to find your nearest voting center, along with approximate wait times at voting centers across the county. All 122 early voting locations will be open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, here in deep blue CT, we have no early in person voting at all. No regular mail in system either, although this year they've made an exception. My wife voted via mail-in ballot already, but I really just want to go vote in person, so I'll have to wait until next Tuesday.

We all just witnessed another vote for Trump on the RM poll in real time. +1 for the bad man since the bricks of derision constructed this quote pyramid of mockery!
