I patiently await your rebuttal.

On a trip through RI from Boston to NY, I ordered a chicken sandwich meal with tea at a McDonald's. Imagine my surprise when they gave me a hot tea instead of the iced tea I thought I ordered!

Always go with the coffee milk.

And the calamari, which goes without saying.

Rhode Island is weird, and I'm only 10 minutes away. They put sauce on bread and call it pizza.
I also voted by mail and was able to to make sure it was received and counted.*
I didn't even have to ask for a mail-in ballot. They mailed me a form that said, "hey, you wanna vote by mail?"
*Thanks, Pete.

Fascinating.
People with that many political bumper stickers are a threat to freedom & American values, man.
I will probably never wrap my head around how often conservative lean is explained not in terms of policy or ambitions, but rather as an expression of contempt for liberals.

I spent a few weeks in Gainesville, TX, when I was 16. It was really no different than redneck MA, save the accents and yankee jokes. Yankee jokes were racist, but so were the redneck MA ones. I did have trouble buying a pack of Marlboro lights, though. Poor woman had no idea what I was saying. I finally realized what the problem was and enunciated the shit out of Marlboro, heavy on the r. She laughed, called me a yankee, and rung up my smokes. Good times.

Contempt for the left, which has resulted in this “own the libs” no matter what mentality, is kind of the only thing that can really explain the last 8 years on the right. Remember when they cared about markets and Russia and getting gay married? Those were the days. I truly believe that 2012 was perhaps the most consequential election of our lifetime. The left did go hard left after that, but the right just became anti-left. No ideas, no solutions (other than Trump’s dumb ideas), just fear and contempt for the left.

Yes clearly liberals are motivated by policy rather than getting Trump out of office at all costs. They're not like those republicans at all.
That's why you nominated Joe Biden. Because of the policies.

The irony here is that Gainesville, being north of Dallas, is well into Yankee territory as far as I'm concerned. I hear they even get snow there sometimes.

Imagine if your driver said "Hey you know what would make the drive from Boston to NYC more fun? An unnecessary detour through Rhode Island!"

If you live south of the O'Neil Tunnel going through Rhode Island is the best way to get to NYC.

Hi I’m Burt Reynolds and I ignored the primaries. Dems can’t really debate policy against a man who has none other than “piss off libs.” But they spent a year doing so against each other.

Not really. Some policy positions were discussed (one can't really avoid it in primaries), but it was mostly about who could best defeat Trump. Even to the extent they were talked about, it was usually couched in terms of how likely their position was to reach or scare away independents. Outside of that they've done nothing but scream about how evil Donald Trump is and taking the opposite position of whatever the media tells them the Russians are for. For four very long years.
This is not an election about policy positions and it's insane to think either party has emphasised them. This is about beating the other guys, and taking the opposite position of what the other guy says.
