On the other hand, I can’t go on Facebook today with all the whining and carrying on about how terrible the song is. I guess this truly is a vacuum outside the prototypical fan base.
:shake:

Pearl Jam finally listened to RM's suggestions and this is the thanks they get.

"Mach 1" probably means it's the first of several videos they'll be releasing for the song.

There’s also the rumor that there is another single next month that could be Mach 2. Maybe that’s what the three symbols that they posted on instagram mean? If you look at the DOTC video, the first logo is at the bottom but not the other two.

Instagram and twitter seem to like it - Facebook is mostly shitting on it.
I figured this track would very divisive.
Too bad they didn't release this last week - Perhaps I would have scored 10c tickets to Hamilton.
The fucking low brow bro army will be out in full force at that show...

Ripe for comfort
Endless equations
In tugging persuasions
Doors open up
To interpretation

Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore
and the past is the present and the future's no more
When every tomorrow is the same as before

The looser things get, the tighter they become
The looser things get tighter

Not one man can be greater than the sum
It's like a negative thought, I’m positive.
Positive, positive.

Fallin down, not staying down
Coulda help me up, brother, tear me down
Drown in the river

Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore
when the past is the present and the future's no more

Numbers keep fallin’ off the calendar's floor
We're stuck in our boxes, windows no more.

Collecting up the forget-me-nots,
Not recalling what they’re for

I'm in love with clairvoyants ‘cause they're out of this world

I know the girls wanna dance
away their circumstance
I know the boys wanna grow

I know the girls wanna dance
Clairvoyants in a trance
I know the boys wanna grow
Their dicks and file things

Stand back back when the spirit comes X2
Stand back

Stand back back when the spirit comes X3
Stand back

I know the girls wanna dance
away their circumstance
I know the boys wanna grow
Their dicks and file things

Stand back when the spirit comes x3
this sounds plausible (surprised about the dicks line). source?
I hear “their dicks inside of things”.

I love the juxtaposition of “wanna dance....clairvoyants in a trance” and “wanna grow their dicks and fix and file things”

I love how this song doesnt really explode into a massive outro. It stays rather reserved. The layered vocals provide that feeling of a crescendo, but the music stays super tight and focused. Ed stays committed.

I've probably listened to this song 10 times today. I'm really enjoying this. Hard to believe, honestly.

If the lyric is, "Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore," then I like it. If it's "Expecting perfection leaves a lot to endure," then I love it.
