i think SBWM ihas a somewhat similar feel - a song that goes where it wants to go in the moment. But the energy in that song feels more like running towards (or away) from
something than the meandering journey of Whoever Said

The Satisfaction vocal part kills this for me every time. The rest of the song is fine.

I definitely feel this, I don't know why Ed has to keep adding these screamy vocal tags; he does it in Dark Matter too; eh, I can mostly ignore it

Really cool song, not perfect. I think the lack of perfection is charming to me on this one. This is the type of song Backspacer really needed.

I thought about putting "since Can't Keep" in my original post because I love it, but WES is just such an epic banger.

It’s a very solid song. I didn’t think they could pump out an opener this good any more.
But, I’m ready to say that SoF has topped this track. It just oozes quality end to end, while Wes has a few blemishes here and there (stone’s fuzz laced interlude, too much “satisfaakkkshunnnn”, lesser vocal melodies, and Ed’s vocal delivery is not as good as in SoF). To be sure, the second half of Wes is some of their best work. It’s handicapped by the first half, though, to an extent.
