As well as Amazon. Same price. ($40)

At Target, it qualifies for the 3-for-2 promo that I mentioned in the Flag Day thread...if you're willing to chance they ship your other items before its yet-to-be-announced release.
Albums cost $40 now?

Spotify or die.

Even as a vinyl buyer, it’s is pretty ridiculous tbh. This is my a dog on EV, any legacy, big name act charges around this now.

Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:This might be a controversial opinion, but I don't see Eddie's recent material as a devolving of his skill.

I think he always sucked at writing songs and simply lucked out and had a fruitful period in the 90's, no doubt brought on by surroundings and inspiration.

In other words, it's the norm rather than the exception. The current Eddie isn't much different from Bad Radio Eddie. All the same boring and annoying tendencies were always there.
Listen to the last 5 minutes of the Audible show and Ed talking about writing and creating music and how that's changed since he became a parent and i think you have your answer why there might have been a bit of a creative dip in the last 15 or so years.

In a nutshell parenting comes first... can't lose himself in the creative process.....basically crams in a small amount to time to focus on writing after the kids have gone to bed.

This is what many have been assuming for years now, since they became family men.

When’s the last kid of a band member out of the house?

He doesn't have toddlers. What's he fucking doing all day while they're at school?

We've got a couple of stay-at-home mom friends like that. They complain incessantly to my wife and I, who both work full time jobs, about how busy they are. One of them even hires a cleaning service.

Jesus, Ed, if it's that hard to write, don't. You're a millionaire. The Haves indeed.

this song isn't as bad as i thought it would be. i think i like it more than the fake Tom Petty song. in fact the outro is cool. its solo EV, its almost exactly what i expected from him at this point. i'm glad pearl jam inspires him to write better songs than this.
Yeah, I finally listened to it. Musically it's fine, but I too just cannot understand the "the haves" approach to expressing this sentiment.

I'm not saying they don't. I'm saying my wife does all the shit they do AND has a full time job, so we are not the audience for their bitching.

The Haves is the most beautiful song ever written. You're all a bunch of losers. You all don't understand the subtlety of Ed's current fine songwriting, do you? I mean, he's telling us, listen carefully, that the haves (terrible people with money who absolutely don't know what true love is) ain't got half (HALF, got it?) of what the haves not (the good people like Ed without money but with a lot of passion and true love to compensate it) actually have got. Love. Pure love. This is what makes us all truly beautiful human beings. If you are not moved to tears and completely mesmerized by this great composition, your heart probably doesn't have a beating anymore. Love. Love is the answer. :heartbeat:
