Just took a cursory listen to the first one on Youtube, and I love it. Will seek out the full album...
Oh man, you're in for a treat. They're so good. They've never released a bad album.

I'm sorry to admit that I haven't checked out any of Neil's recent shows with his current band but that absolutely wails - I love it.

Absolutely. My wife and I went to see Neil when we had first started dating, and we did a sort of arena rock slow-dance to a smoldering version of that song that we still remember very fondly.
Can't wait for chapter 2 of Tragabigzanda Presents "Budding Romance" scored by Neil Young.
We're gonna bang to the sounds of his new animal noises record.
Your animal noises will be drowned out by the sound of his animal noises.

Genius.

The Promise of the Real are nearly as good of a fake Crazy Horse as Pearl Jam were. Too bad "Revolution Blues" isn't on the live album....

I can tell "Like a Hurricane" is a good song too but he really shouldn't have forced something to follow "Will to Love". There's no topping that. It's just not fair.

It was an outtake from his scrapped Chrome Dreams record. I don't believe he updated it at all, just through it on AS&B because he felt like it. If you haven't figured it out yet, part of what makes his discography so rewarding is that he doesn't give a fuck, so you'll be treated to little gems tucked into albums that are otherwise unremarkable. Just wait until Trans.
It's all the subtle background noises that make it. It sounds like there's just ambient noise of a crackling fire, I think? And some weird, out-of-sync drums and stuff at one point. Man alive.

As I'm listening to this again, I would bet money that Kanye was inspired by that little out-of-sync drum moment to include a nearly identical touch on "Wolves".
