Honestly though, I tried that level 5-10 times when you made it and it annoyed me so much I just quit and moved on. It was way too frustrating for me to even want to keep trying. How many people have passed it now?

Id have put it a little later. The section you put in front of is very easy, so it just got tedious to go through that part over and over after dying. Perhaps at the bottom of that ice cave with the star and mushroom.

It wasnt bad by any stretch. But that room with the spinys and the star is super easy and got old to keep redoing. Overall it wasnt a bad spot.
