That's absurd. Nobody's best attribute is impromptu rapping, Joe.

No, I know. You're right. But he's actually really good at it.

Why is everyone flipping about him and that musical?

I kinda hate him because of the hype.

That makes sense to me. It's Radiohead syndrome. I get it but I don't agree with it. He's been one of my favorite artists since I was introduced to his work back in 2008/9. I've followed his career very closely and I happen to think Hamilton is the most significant and powerful and important piece of art since Angles in America. But I'm sure that doesn't mean much coming from me, nor does it help alleviate the hype-frustration. Just my opinion. It's fucking brilliant.

its a joke...But yeah, i have a feeling he is so fuckin PC or he represents that for me, not sure why. I saw him talking about trump and Hillary and it was so obvious and boring...there was not a single idea there.

But i havent seen that musical or nothing with him, so yeah...im sure im wrong.

I have no idea how you'll ultimately perceive his work/art. But you should try to let go of whatever you think you know about Miranda before you give it a fair shot. I've never gotten the impression he's "so fucking PC" or anything like that. But I also don't have the hangups about it that you have. So, maybe you're super astute and I just don't see it because I've already bought in. But his work is powerful and really worth experiencing, I think. If nothing else, it deserves a fair shot.

For the record, I have no problem with the PC set (at least as it relates to Lin-Miranda), nor vegetarians; and I absolutely love Angels In America, I agree it's an important and brilliant work. I just really hate musicals. The very medium is complete anathema to my sensibilities (with a few notable exceptions, covered elsewhere on RM).
For whatever it's worth, I'm not a huge fan of musicals either. In general, I really don't care for them. This thing though... Hamilton?... isn't really your average musical. It's something new. It's a game changer.

I have no interest in Hamilton and nothing against Miranda. But seriously, guys, his WTF rapping was embarrassing.

I'm glad I missed it, then. In all seriousness, most impromptu rapping is terrible. I'm sure he was embarrassed by it as much as you were.

To his credit, I don't get the since that MLM takes himself seriously enough to be embarrassed. I may not have any interest in Hamilton, but I recognize a lighthearted guy who appreciates his good fortune and takes it all in stride.
Totally. This guy's joy and positivity is infectious. The guy doesn't seem to take a minute of his life or good fortune for granted. It's amazing. He's so humble and funny and alive. Nothing but respect for the guy.

The second season of Someone Knows Something is fascinating. Also, Uo and Vanished is brilliant.
