The only time I've seen something close to that was when Gabe Kapler blew out his Achilles while running the bases after a HR. I think they let a pinch runner finish for him.

Yeah it was weird. IIRC, he was already on 1st base, someone else hit the HR. It was in Toronto, probably 2005 or 2006. He went down rounding 2nd base and couldnt walk after. I want to say they let someone run for him, because I would remember if they lost a run because of it.

A couple years ago, the Jays spent something like $700,000 on a research project to look into the feasibility of growing grass in the Dome. Hopefully they'll be able to do it within the next few years.

Oh god no... the dome cost something like $500 million to build, and Rogers bought it in 2004 for $25 million. They're going to milk it for everything it's got.
To be fair, the location is amazing and they're putting a significant amount of money into upgrades, so it's not like they're just letting it rot.

It was such an engineering marvel that, at the time, it was amazing to see and absolutely state-of-the-art. But yeah, immediately after that teams switched the the classic, throwback look that we've seen ever since... and it's sooooo much better that way.

The greatest almost perfect game ever, ended with a 3 run, home run, that turned into a 1 run single, as Hank Aaron thought it was a ground rule double, and stopped running when he hit 2nd..
So for everyone who cant believe it happened in the Marlins game, something very similar happened in one of the greatest games every pitched
