We hit 200 confirmed cases yesterday. A massive massive spike. Hasn’t been a day like it since March. And they’re reopening schools in two weeks.
What could possibly go wrong.

My partner's son is in one of the dorms where there is a cluster. But even if he gets it, he doesn't want to come home and risk spreading to us, so we'll see. I can't imagine if there is a huge outbreak that they are just going to shut down the dorms and send all these COVID kids home to spread around even more

Test result came back yesterday - negative. Would have been shocked if it was positive

Not sure if this Covid-19 related but this cop got thrown and later the driver was arrested.

What’s their on-campus testing/tracing capacity like? Or is some of it still run by the county health department?

They are doing temperature checks and contact tracing for the new clusters. They have a dorm that is set up for isolation for students that test positive.

Has been a minor spike here, and the borders are now mostly closed again. Schools opening today.

They now also want us to wear masks on public transportation in Oslo during rush hour. Was only one or two masks on my tram this morning.

Duke starts today. More fun to come.

School starts today in my district; it's online for the at least the first six weeks. However special needs students report for in person learning. My sister is a teacher's assistant who works with these students so, obviously, she reports back to work today too.

It look like in [in our district] the special needs and low-SES families who the caring Republicans said were so in need of in-person education mostly chose the on-line option when they were given a choice.

Oh, and UNC's isolation dorms are full, so they're putting students in area hotels.
