I live across town. My EL students stopped coming to school a week or so before Christmas break. They were almost all back Monday and Tuesday. They were all gone today. I can’t really explain how that feels. I had a student die by suicide many years ago. These empty desks don’t feel quite like that, but it’s not that far off.

The last book I teach seniors is Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption. When the Sisters start showing an interest in Andy, he says to Red, “I don’t suppose it would help if I told them I’m not homosexual.” Red replies, “Neither are they. You have to be human first.” That’s the case here. So I’m with Joe on this one. These people are objectively evil. I don’t think it brings us down to their level to wish they were dead. If I find a genie, my dick is going to have to wait.

there was a time when I gave trump voters/supporters the benefit of the doubt, mainly because some people I cared about voted for him.

then, before the last election, a friend of mine admitted he believed the 2020 election was stolen. I gave up on all trump voters that day.

I don’t know what else to say on here that we haven’t been saying for 10 years. We knew Trump was a joke during his first run in 2016. We knew what we were getting. They started their lying BS the very first day….on Inauguration Day, when they said his crowd was the largest ever. We knew what we were in for.

The problem was that as an idiot, he has a whole lot of pull on the ignorant of this country. There are people who are totally inept with critical thinking and live in communities where they are easily manipulated. And this wave of idiocy brought us to a second term that is more dangerous than the first.

Trump is a criminal. Trump is a sex offender. Trump is more than likely a racist.

Trump is a traitor to this country. It’s time for republicans and democrats to come together and impeach in the House, and convict in the Senate

I'm for it but also feel uncomfortable banning something like that ? People are free to make money in my opinion.

However, it is radically changing neighborhood character and driving prices up for sure. Maybe until we fix our housing crisis we should ban it. I don't know the answer.

Did some work in a neighborhood recently here - two companies are buying up all these. Or century ramblers, tearing them down, and building cheap ass/expensive cookie cutter homes that are going for twice as much. It sucks and they all look the same.

The rich keep getting richer and the poor are getting drunk.

But on the flip side, my job is pretty fucking quiet these days so if someone came in and offered me $800k to buy my dinky rambler ....I'd have to consider it for financial reasons.

These are dark days. If only these goons had been held accountable after the 2020 election. Biden could go down as the next Neville Chamberlain.

I still hold out a little hope that once that rat-fuck piece of shit Trump dies this whole thing will collapse. I just don't see who could replace him.
