Not watching Virginia, I gather.

The democrat candidate had a very strong likelihood of winning this race until suddenly he started trying like mad to lose. Now he's gone to the extent of running tons of ads on Fox that seem designed to get out the Republican vote.

I am. If the red team wins, and VA becomes even more "business friendly" vice Maryland, we may have to move across the river into the land of assault weapons and lime disease for the wife and I to be close to where the jobs are.

Also, if Gillespie takes this race, it will indicate to other candidates around the country that you can use racist dog whistles, Trumpian culture wars, and uber-right conspiracy trash in a general election...and win. It will show that it wasn't a fluke in the presidential.

A lot of Republican analysts and campaign managers have confessed to watching how this plays out very carefully. If he wins, they'll ramp that shit up in other places. Frankly, Gillespie losing is essential for the Republican Party's soul.

Also I hate that this is a thing we just accept is gonna happen now.
