Rangi Guy wrote:I just did an online quiz - 'Which US Presidential candidate are you?'
I'm apparently
40% Clinton
20% Trump
40% Johnson
Funny thing is - I thought I'd be more Trump than the results came back with
It was rigged

There were anti-vaccinators protesting at the children's hospital today. More than one had a Trump hat or sign.

Tuesday night will forever go down in American history as "Ocho de Noviembre" ... a fiesta of tacos and tequila so joyous that it will make "Cinco de Mayo" look like a first communion party
Wednesday morning will then go down in my personal dietary history as "dia de caliente chorizo diarrhea fiesta"

I don't disagree with you here. Lifelong learning isn't just fun, it's required to stay ahead of the game financially. But this is just a piece of the Trump puzzle, not the whole thing (though one progressives site frequently because it absolves them of responsibility for any of this mess). It's my opinion that Trump's rise is also do to the way the culture war is being fought. These people who did everything by the book their whole lives, didn't inherit their wealth, worked hard, kept their nose down, only to have their jobs shipped away so some exec in Manhattan gets a bigger bonus... that shit's been going on for years. People can deal with that. Being undercut by illegals in their own country, again something shitty people have been conditioned to except. It's when they are attacked and shamed for their existence... shamed for wanting to express their religion, shamed for wanting to express their heritage, shamed for wanting their kids get an equal shot at a job or slot in college regardless of their skin color. Excluded from culture (they don't "look like America looks like now"). Christianity is colonialism. Whiteness is racism. They see their dignity strip away. They see a system that not only left them behind, but told them they deserve it. Of course they are going to harden, to become militant. Of course they will embrace someone who says "it's not you", because in reality it's not all them. It's all of us who had the privilege not to be born into that clusterfuck failing to recognize the situation 10's of millions of our neighbors are because we are too busy signalling our superiority to each other.

And then it was revealed that she's the Governor of Michigan!
Current governor of Michigan is GOPer Rick Snyder. Only female Dem former governor I can think of is Jennifer Granholm.
