Kind of amazing that in 3 years Green Day went from opening for Blink 182 to headlining stadiums in some markets

My first was....I don't remember the year. '88 probably. It was a triple bill at Lake Compounds. Extreme, Cinderella and David Lee Roth. David Lee came out on a giant mechanical banana.

Lake Compounce wow... nice when there were more venues in this state. Triple bill I saw there: BulletBoys, Slaughter and Poison.

Dude I've been calling it Lake Compounds my entire life is it really Compounce? I must be an idiot! I've only been there 100 times.

That's probably more fitting. It's almost fruitless to even hope bands play CT anymore, few and far between these days. Went to a Whale game Saturday and it still really burns me that the promoters starved the New Haven Coliseum then destroyed it.

Saw STP and The Meat Puppets at the New Haven Coliseum I think that's the only time I was there.

I saw quite a few shows there plus hockey, nice being the next town over now there is nothing except Toad's which is essentially a shit-hole.

Green Day opening was on purpose; Blink was huge, Green Day cooled off, but they knew they would blow blink out of the water. I'm pretty sure it became a point of contention between the bands by the end if the tour.

My dad took me to see Huey Lewis and the News in 1987. I would have been about 4. We left about 7 songs in; it was way past my bedtime.

The first concert I attended sans parental supervision was Smashing Pumpkins in 1996 on the Infinite Sadness tour.

Lol. Thinking about my firat show makes me laugh. Me and my buddy took the LIRR to MSG in 1984 to see Billy Idol. We did the scam where both our parents thought we were staying over a third kids house. We were 13. Totally awesome, cheesy show. Smoke machines, dancers in lingerie and a white wedding. Awesome memory.
