For sure. But also modern day when they throw it in at the end of the main set after some shitty BS/LB songs, it can be quite refreshing

the final minute of the studio cut of porch is just about as good as pearl jam gets. the only song climax that tops it is Alive.

I mean Alive definitely does. I just want to reserve the right to add others.

The reason everyone is voting off why go is because that is the part of the song that everyone remembers .

If why go do didn't have the why go part, it would instead be remembered as the song where your clothes fell all off just by you standing there dancing and shaking your head no real quick

The Spin Doctors comparison applies a lot more to the white-boy-funk of a few Vs. tracks

Both amazing songs, but not surprised that they left.

Look at the songs that are left. This was their first god damned album. I cannot understand how someone can look at the remaining tracks on No Code or Binaural and, with a straight face, convince themselves that those are a better collection of songs.

Fun fact - my father handles the pension plan of the spin doctors.

The songs on Ten are more iconic (well known, lots of history, more successful, more anthemic, youthful), but also feel a little more dated (objectively and subjectively). The songs on No Code feel timeless.

That's fair, to a point. One of the reasons why the Ten songs feel dated is that they defined the time they are from.

Maybe so in terms of music but the sound of Ten (production-wise) is outdated even by 1991 standards

Also true. I actually rarely listen to those versions. I prefer most of the mixes that have come out since.

Being dated isn’t a bad thing, though.

It's not, but I understand how it can lessen an appeal
