I'm playing catchup, but yeah -- the 80's ruled.

i'm gonna be real curious how much tickets will be. his 2002 tour was excessively expensive for the time, i can only imagine what it will be now.

hard to believe it's been 20 years since up.

tragabigzanda wrote:I quite like Panopticom. It sounds like his So material, with a touch of Up. It's not blowing me away; it feels fairly derivative of the aforementioned era. But it's inspired, energetic, and his voice sounds great. And the rhythm section is stellar as usual. Getting excited for this album.
the last minute or so is fantastic. and you're right: he sounds really good.

it's alright. i agree with trag- songs sounds a blend of old and his more recent output and makes me wonder if his mid-00 tours playing some of his lesser known 80s material gave him a newfound appreciation for that work and how that sound can be modernized. and yes his voice sounds pretty good here, though it's the instrumental portions of the song that are clicking with me the most. still, this song is a bit too disjointed for my tastes. i'm sure i'll appreciate some of it more the more i listen, and maybe in the context of the album it will feel different, but right now this isn't doing much for me beyond the appeal of finally hearing new music from peter gabriel.
