Don’t agree at all that they have the same design, characterisation and pacing. They’re in the same bloodline but in no way the same template.
This is evidenced by many people complaints about them not being an exact copy/ enough like the originals for their taste

George Lucas doesn't strike me as a racist guy, but you've gotta admit it was, at the very least, a weird choice.

Full disclosure, I haven't seen the prequels since they were released in theaters and am basing my opinion off of Griffin Newman's impressions of these characters.
