- I really think Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be Marvel's first bomb.
It very we'll could be, but I'm looking forward to it more than I did The Avangers.

Kevin Feige, President of Production for Marvel likened GotG to the first Iron Man movie in the sense that IM wasn't really a hugely popular character before it and they had to introduce him to the mainstream. They kinda took a leap of faith with that movie. Now, Downey Jr and Iron Man are pretty much the flagship for Marvel's Avengers arc. I doubt GotG ever gets close to Iron Man just because it looks like a SciFi movie more than a comic movie.

two things....the first one
volstagg and lady sif take the aether to a room. in that room an alien woman introduces them to a gentleman who introduces himself as a collector. they tell him that they trust him to keep this safe. he marvels at it and says he will gladly keep it safe for them. they mention how it has to be kept away from the others. they cant keep it on asgard since that is where the teresect is.
they walk away and you hear him say 5 down.....
(i cant remember the exact wording but thats close enough)
in the comic books thanos (the guy at the end of the avengers) wants to wipe out 1/2 the universe to please his love, (lady) death. to do this he goes on a quest for the infinity gems. each one has a different power, telepathy, space, time etc. when you possess one it makes it easier to locate the next one.
when joined together to the infinity gauntlet you become completely omipotent.
thanos is the bad guy in GotG and i believe this is setting up avengers 3 to be the infinity guantlet or infinity war
the second clip is just thor reapears on earth and kisses jane foster

i think it was implied he needs to find 4 of them. one is already in his possession and one he knows asgard has.
in the books the Collector is an elder of the universe. each one honed one specific trait/ability to them being the best at it. there is a gardner, a fighter, the collector etc...
im sure in the movies it will be implied that the Collector is working for thanos on locating the gems

This is where I am confused on why Ultron is the villian in Avengers 2, Where does he fit in? When I saw thanos, I was "oh shit" now I feel like I got the switch like at the massage parlor.

see, i like that. it has a crossover feel to it. a little sense of what is to come. thanos was probably using the Chitaruri to try to locate one of the gems (he probably has one in his possession already) and knew earth had one (terrasect).
age of ultron is probably going to be AI jarvis taking over one of starks suits from IM3 that didnt self destruct.

Can we at least all agree that Natalie Portman is very convincing as a brilliant scientist?
