it would have to be terminator or jurassic park, right? The first Pirates movie is a ton of fun, and there is a lot to like in some of the sequels, but those movies also never really hit the highs of JP 1 or T2.

I kind of want to back the Matrix just because of the drop off, but at least the sequels were swinging for the fences. There was nothing lazy about them.

Has no one mentioned Die Hard yet? The first is legendary. The second isn’t great but still very watchable. The third is great. The fourth gets real dicey. And the fifth is irredeemable garbage.

I agree with that precisely except I think 4 is pretty much garbage too.

Lethal Weapon franchise too. The first is legendary. The second isn’t great but still very watchable. The third is crap. The fourth has moments.

Lethal Weapon 3 & 4 are by far my favorite of the franchise.

Yeah Die Hard is a good example. The first three are classics. The last two i forgot they existed.

Jurassic Park and Terminator are another great examples. Terminator...man what a mess that it.

Agree with Die Hard. Incredible that they could go from 1 and 3, to how poor 5 is.

They need to scrap their dumb plans for 6 and bring back McTiernan for one last true McClane outing. He’s the only one who understands the character.

Bruce Willis has been sleep walking for decades. It's over.

He has little flourishes of life every now and then (shotgun scene in Looper). He needs the right director to pull it out of him. If anyone can do it, it’s McTiernan.
