Plus, Weiland hadn't really found that sweet spot in his vocal range yet. I think Core comes across as sounding monochrome for the most part. From Purple onward, there are many different colors.

My problems with Core are the basic song structures. It really is part A, Part B, part C, part B and maybe part C again. the songs repeat themselves too much and I've had enough before the song is over.

No. 4 and Purple are the definitive “hard rock” STP albums.

I really, really wanted And So I Know, but it just didn't work out.
