I get the feeling that the popular assumption that China is inevitable is false. They need our markets more than we need their manufacturing. Their demographics and debt problems are a lot worse than ours.
Not sure though.

A commanding officer of the Indian army and two soldiers have died at Galwan Valley, in Ladakh, in a face-off between Indian and Chinese soldiers, according to a statement by the Indian defence ministry. It's the first loss of life in at least 45 years and comes after weeks of tension between the two sides.
So weird to me that India and China hate each other so much.
