Richard Stuverud plays like if Jack Iron's favourite drummer was Dave Abbruzzese.
it's probably Josh's, but I think part of the difference of the sound is the kit.wease wrote:Is it his kit or Josh’s?warehouse wrote:damn that stuverud guy sounds awesome. his kit compared to matt's is so small
He hasn't fired a drummer in a while and has to get in his mental space.Strat wrote:. Ed was also moody and I want to know why
Not a bad way of putting itFarmer John wrote:Richard Stuverud plays like if Jack Iron's favourite drummer was Dave Abbruzzese.

I don't believe they'd ever cut Matt loose.Strat wrote: No. I know this is your dream but nah they're with Matt.
But like I said it's beyond the drummer thing. Really. Don't know how to explain it burned is focused. The band is right. They're excited to be playing again. It shows.
But I cannot believe Stone and Jeff (at least) haven't been thinking some thoughts these last couple of days.
It's wildly obvious how good and energised the band have sounded these last two nights, like they've tapped into something they almost forgot about. It happened by pure chance - but it happened and now they know. They know.
It's not about Matt not being a super drummer, but you lucky folks saw PEARL JAM the last few nights.
It's a Gibson Les Paul Signature, a weirdo (and really cool looking) 70s model:wease wrote:When did Stone start playing a 335?

Matt should play like he did in '98.Strat wrote:Also I really like that I get to share in joy and excitement with spenno because it never happens. Maybe I'll campaign against Matt too.
But I did just listen to LO2L and well it's pretty incredible.
A) that’s my angle of the stage in St Louis. Only I’m pretty sure I’m farther back.Birds in Hell wrote:

B) Jeff’s totally digging that little drum outro. Ed is too a little bit.
C) that tune is the fucking MVP of the tour
As if Ed would take on that task.CopperTom wrote:He hasn't fired a drummer in a while and has to get in his mental space.Strat wrote:. Ed was also moody and I want to know why
this. watching him, i feel like that's how i react when i play pearl jam songs, and he's playing WITH them. i read keidis describe him as nerdy and intellectual so i imagine he knows pearl jam's music inside and out. i wanna hear them do in my treeStrat wrote:You can absolutely tell Josh was/is a super fan.
