These aren't great by any means, but they're definitely better than quite a few Eddie songs. He's not that untouchable as a lyricist.

But this is a great, slippery song. It's hard to get a handle on it (in a good way), which matches my feelings on the record thus far.

quite a few? Eddie only really has one song I can think of where the lyrics are just bad (got some)

this is exactly how i feel.

it's different musically. that's the only thing i ever want in a pearl jam album. and i feel that jeff really is the one that pushes this envelope. eddie, on the other hand, is at the completely opposite end of the spectrum musically (i think he's becoming a one-trick pony).

with that said, alright perfectly captures how i feel about the entire album. it has its flaws for sure, but i really, really like it.

you guys really think about lyrics too much.

I think so.

That line just sticks out for me. I quickly settle in and the song is one of my absolute favourites so far.
