Surprised by this. May be a bit too long but dare I say it's pretty intriguing.

This is my favorite Ed solo song since Thumbing My Way...just a great little tune all around

I think this is the first acoustic-Eddie-folkie-type song that really feels like it has some musical meat to it -- there is a lot going on melodically, things that don't stick out as remarkable in the first verse but which feel increasingly sharp and clever as they repeat themselves (and vary slightly), and as you begin to anticipate where the lyrical payoffs are going to come. It may be the first of these kinds of songs that gives the impression that the composition came first and the aesthetic was chosen deliberately because it fit, not because it just happened to spill out when Eddie picked up his acoustic one day. There's a Richard Thompson-y vibe to it that I really, really like. I wish it was the closer.

pretty meh overall. I think layers would have helped. Eddie at least tried to make an interesting song. it's just boring. what an overall way to end the album with FOUR slow songs in a row.

Album should end with this one. The next two songs are really kinda meh.

It feels very clear listening to it. Very sad but at least he’s putting it down in the best place.

i think this, dance, and SBWM have the best lyrics on the album (pending learning 7oclock)

so this is the pete townshend song i read about. he even recognizes it in the lyrics. is ed's guitar playing different on here? i feel like some of this is new for him. it almost has a country feel to it. also the vocals are great.

This feels like a logical extension of No Code.

How so? i dont get much no code on this album, apart from the variety. I do see the yield connections.

As a whole, the album feels more like No Code than Yield to me. But especially this song, has that feel and sound that Pearl Jam seldom has had since.

Thematically and sonically much more like Yield than No Code.

I don't really hear a lot of Yield here.

Huh, from the reviews I expected this to be one of the worst song but now I think it's one of the best. Feels like Eddie in Riot Act songwriting mode but in a sunnier/lighter version.
