Does anyone not think it'll be Corduroy?
It would be peak Pearl Jam to open with the song that fans don't know how to sing along with anymore.
I'm assuming, because it's you, that this is a great post. But I don't get it.

It won’t be Long Road.

Referencing the call and response, maybe?

This is more or less correct--and it's not really the fans' fault, I hate the new-ish version.
In the video below, the breakdown begins around 2:15, and you can hear the crowd continue to sing the song in the fashion it was played for 20+ years. You can hear this on every bootleg from the past few tours--the crowd has a collective "Huh?" and just sort of fades out. It's so odd--that was one of the big, huge cathartic releases in the song (the "Everything has changed" scream) and it's just been neutered.

I see.
Your knowledge/experience with this goes far beyond mine. I don't see PJ live that often (once a tour; nothing like most of y'all) and I've never knowingly experienced what you're talking about.
I was literally just trying to make a joke about the opening lyrics.

Realistically, I think Long Road would be a really good guess, too.

That was a pretty good exchange between durden and ST.
Great points by each, without getting what the hell the other one was talking about.
Nice work, gents, I enjoyed that.

I realize that I'm an outlier, but I think the new version is even better suited to give you that big moment - they just . The build from 4:30 to the moment the song peaking again at like 5:10 is so much bigger than it used to be. You don't get the big release from the lyrics - instead, it's from Mike, which I think is that much better.
The build from like 4:00 to like 4:20 on this Wrigley 2016 version is amazing to me -
