unless it's the state theater, it ain't happening.
civic center up here's been gutted since May.
I thought they were still hosting events while that was going on? And wouldn't it have to be open/ready to go by mid October anyway for the minor league hockey team/fall events they host every year?

I'm from Louisville (like some other person who just posted a great lament in the countdown thread). It seems to me like an ideal place to drop a tour date. Louisville could draw fans from Nashville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and possibly even St. Louis and Columbus OH. Heck, even Birmingham, AL is only 5.5 hours away. AND it's within an hour's drive of the best bourbon to be found anywhere ever in history. Louisville's the prime city to reach a big chunk of the country that usually gets overlooked. I'm beginning to think that when, in Lexington in 2003, Eddie Vedder said it was a night to remember, he may have just been pandering.
Can someone PM me Kelly Curtis' phone number?
No, Lexington was a badass gig. Halfway through when he told the crowd they'd been great, it was true. They were loud and into everything all night long. Smaller market gigs can end up having really solid crowds. That's why I'm looking forward to some of the gigs in this list. Fingers crossed.

Ed said a lot of shit in 2003. He told Alpine the band thought the show was so special they'd be back very soon. Eight years later...

Ed was immensely drunk during the 2003 tour. I wouldn't hold him to anything he said.

Wrong number. You want Nikki Vandenberg at Vandenberg Communications. She's the band's publicist and probably will get back to you:

with the way the streets/entrances are closed off, i'm pretty sure it's not an option for a while... the website says the admin. office closed until Jan 1, 2014. Looking at the Pirates website for tickets, it says games will be in Lewiston & Portland in '13-'14. So, again, i'm pretty sure it's not an option for a while...

I may just do Hartford; it'd be weird not putting in tickets for a Massachusetts show! I wish they would do Providence.

That riff at the end of the video. It kind of... sucks.

I don't get the GA pit. Pj fans now in late 30s and early 40s really want to be in a GA pit?
So much for seniority and good seats on the floor
Weird things this band is doing lately.

I don't know if it sucks just yet....but its 'generic' potential is off the charts.

"Seniority perks" is clearly not on the minds of the marketing genius that is Pearl Jam's band management team....maybe the strategy is to engage the youth?

Probably tired of the arms folded sticks in the mud they stare at every single show.

That is clearly a shift of focus from the band. Rewarding long time fan club members and now a pit like its 1992. Stupid.

Isn't that kind of a blind spot? Wouldn't their eyes be more trained in rows 30 and above given the height of the stage...
I was in the front row in 2000 and '98 and you're like right under Ed's feet.

I gotta say the pit show I went to back during the VCF tour back in 04 was awesome. Really was a different experience. That being said, I didn't have a herinated L-5 in my back at that time.

The thing that surprises me most is the Rosklide factor. Guess they feel their fan base is too old to get that rowdy anymore at this point...

It might be that the pit won't be very crowded.

At 37, I would prefer to sit up close. That being said, if I'm given the choice of standing close or sitting further back, I'm not sure where I fall yet.
I know that a crowd like Music Midtown in Atlanta would not be cool. I don't mind standing. I just don't want to be smashed in elbow to elbow with high/drunk jackasses shoving me aside while they pretend to look for a friend that is up closer. If this is only limited to Ten Club members, maybe it won't be quite so insane, particularly in Charlotte, NC where I'm thinking of going.
