based on what he said at his press conference ("I was pitching it more than him [Elway]"), and the news that the pats signed amendola on tuesday (before Welker signed in DEN), does anybody think the Pats did Welker a favor and told him tuesday what they had done and he should try and land someplace before they announce things so that his value didn't take a hit (other teams negotiating with him would know that NE didn't have an offer)?

Oh, man. Sorry GH. Did you see this?
Matt Miller @nfldraftscout
Text I just received from NFL executive: "The Broncos just pulled the most Raider move ever." Classic.
Yikes.

Well, now I guess we have to hope that the market doesn't give more than the $8 million that was slated to have gone down.
And honestly, given that he had $10 million slated in 2014, they'd likely have to go through the same shit again that year.

Listen, the Broncos are rivals, so of course the Chiefs fan in me finds this hilarious. But c'mon! The reports I'm seeing said they faxed the paperwork over 7 mins too late. 7 mins!
I wouldn't have a problem letting that slide. It's 7 mins. Not like we're talking about 7 hours or 7 days. Whatever.

Still think the Broncos are the team to beat in the AFC.

From what I'm reading, the fuckup looks to be on Doom's end. If the Broncos had fucked up, Doom would have gotten his $12 million fully guaranteed.

I heard some saying he might have done it accidentally on purpose to see if anyone else would offer more, and if they dont then he can take the 8 mill

Good theory. Elvis is known to make calculated, well thought out decisions.....

hmm so the broncos have 4 million in dead money and Elvis will probably only make 8 million at best this season whereever he goes.
Yep, that agent is fired.
The teams that desperately need pass rushers, don't have any money to spend it seems.

Unless you're Seattle and you promptly get two really good ones for not very much money at all.

According to John Clayton, (I haven't looked it up) the Broncos have the easiest schedule in the league based on winning percentage last year.
I'm also actively trying to get tickets to the opener. Even if I don't, I'm interested to see where the crappy musical acts will be performing for pre-game.

This time last year, they were said to have one of the toughest schedules--and they went 13-3. These statements always mean jack shit.

I hope you succeed. I still really need to get around to finally seeing a game at Mile High.
