Apologies if I'm Classic B'ing this, but could the apparent dislike of No Code have to do with the initial No Code tour being a shit show? Wasn't that the tour where they were trying to not use Ticketmaster? I couldn't get tickets to Toledo because the fucking phone lines melted?
Maybe these songs just never got launched into the "live world" properly, so they don't come up in "what should we play tonight" discussions amongst the band members.

that was a pre-bootleg era though. I dont think a fuller tour would have mattered.

Brain of J has been played 129 times. pearljam.com left out the fact they played it in San Jose in '95.
