My favorite thing about Jeremy Renner is that he was twice tapped to be the successor in a huge action franchise, and both times the original star was like "nah, I'm gonna come back"

Yeah, there was talk of it back when Tom Cruise's career and public perception were going through a rough patch, and an early version of the Ghost Protocol script had Cruise becoming the IMF director at the end of the film, stepping aside from the central action

I'm telling you Len, The Town. He so effectively captures a specific sort of dude from Charlestown, one that's a far cry from who he seems to be in real life. He's the real deal, I just don't think he challenges himself enough with his roles.
I haven’t seen that in like ten years, but I do recall enjoying his role. And I probably am missing out a bit by not knowing anything about Charlestown.
I do agree on him not challenging himself in roles. I do think he brings a certain presence in most roles though that is very appealing.

It's because he's not a very good actor. But he is an exceptional star and eccentric.

Hmm.
he is awesome in Few Good Men and Vanilla Sky, and American Made.
The rest are basically variations on the same character. Good point.

What is this
Jeremy Renner Official mobile app
Main article: Jeremy Renner Official
Renner released a mobile app called "Jeremy Renner" (Android) and "Jeremy Renner Official" (iOS) in March 2017. The app was created by Escapex, a company that specializes in monetized apps for celebrities.[50]
FastCompany wrote extensively about Renner's app in April 2019, calling it "a surprising new kind of social media".[51] Discussing the self-referential nature of the app, The Ringer stated "Jeremy Renner's Jeremy Renner app is the Jeremy Renner of apps."[52]
The community developed to include memes, selfies, and a "Happy Rennsday" event on Wednesdays. As early as October 2017, there were claims of censorship, bullying, and "contest-rigging". In September 2019, comedian Stefan Heck publicized his discovery of the fact that replies through the app appear as if they were sent by Renner himself in push notifications. After several users abused this feature, Renner asked Escapex to shut down the app.[53][54][55][56][57]

I love TC and he's great in the roles he plays. Really don't care that he's not a showy actor with a broad range
