Im still convinced they pranked the studio with the movie, but looks beautiful and there were enough stuff to keep me interested. Also kudos to them for not making the same exact movie everyone else would have done.

Pranked the studio is a better take than trolled the fanbase.

I only care about this movie insofar as I hope all superhero movies fail at the box office…

But I’ve read elsewhere that they were rewriting pages for a given day’s shoots, and that Phoenix in particular was unhappy with the script and pushing for last-minute rewrites. Sounds like more of a clash of management/ego than anything intentional.

Isn’t burning a couple hundred million of studio money on a below-Speed-2 sequel that is nearly universally hated exactly what the Phoenix’s Joker would do?

I'm just not really interested. I feel like the first was a nice, contained story. Not interested in ruining that for myself.

What makes this a “jukebox” musical? Like its songs from popular music?

It's my understanding that they are musicals that use pre-existing popular music, rather than music written specifically for the musical.

And from what I hear, most of the songs in this one don't even fit the story at all.

Look at the movies he’s picked ever since the Cash biopic. Lots of interesting roles in dogshit movies.
