It's a lateral move on paper, but the opportunity for growth with this new group coupled with a huge shift in quality of life makes this a no-brainer. I've been with my previous bar for 6 years. Definitely hard to leave, but I'm so excited to join a culture more in line with where me and my family are at now. Feels like a weight has been lifted

Things seem to be slightly less crazy busy lately. Only did an hour and a half of OT tomorrow and it’s not offered at all tomorrow.

Welp, that month long notice I gave at work was kindly received, but they're saying goodbye after today. Training my replacement this afternoon and looks like I'll have a little cushion week before my new job starts. Bittersweet, but I'm so happy I'm training this particular guy. I've worked with him in this same company, but different locations, for a few years and have lobbied to have him on my assistant management team for a while now. Guess they were always growing him at his store for this kind of GM opportunity. Just about the best transition I'd want for my "legacy" at this place. Long may it run.

Yeah, a reset will be good. Lol @ posting heavily. Probably need a mental reset overall, so I might try to trend towards a CH2-as-of-late style of posting.

It'd be great to take a trip, since the wife works from home. Or I might let my future employer know I'm available so I can start getting those fat stacks and benefits ASAP.

So as part of my responsibilities, I have to hire new people for my centers. We’re in the beginning phase of opening a new center and I’m going thru provider applications/résumés. I’m looking at one right now and and the first thing I look at what kind of salary they’re looking for. This one is asking for way more than what I can pay so in my mind, it’s immediately in the NO pile. But then I start reading the resume and they outline working with transgender patients and managing their meds and just overall caring for that particular group. Then I immediately start thinking that if I just say no and be done with it like I would any other resume, what if this person thinks I turned them down based on what they’ve listed in regards to the trans patients. Which I fully support, btw. I don’t want them to think that but I can’t help feeling there’s no way they wouldn’t. Now I don’t know what to do.

I’m not in charge of that aspect. HR controls that.

What are you going to do? Pay the person way above what you should because you want to feel virtuous?
