I was driving a rental mini van yesterday and the rear lift gate just opened up by itself as I was going 75 down the highway

i saw lift gate and pictured a grated lift...for wheelchairs. then i realized he likely meant the trunk, and changed it.

most of the time it's messy because we took a road trip with them.
