If the grocery store wants to honor or support some category of individuals with a convenient parking space, I figure only assholes bitch about how deserving that group is.
Of course, pregnant women and Veterans are CAPABLE of parking elsewhere, but so are the entitled dicks whining about it. Just honor the spots that you're asked to honor.

What's the proper move here? I had my father-in-law, a vet, in the vehicle and he requested I park in the vet parking. Maybe a detail I should have mentioned is that he has had a couple of knee surgeries and the space was a convenience for him.
