What is the point you seem to think I’m missing?

Spoiler: show: The point is their relationship sucked, then it got better, and neither of them care who slept with who in the end. If it were important, it would have shown us. They had slowly but surely been at least somewhat converted to a more liberal, happier mindset by their friends, kicking and screaming. They were tested then came out happier. That's their arc.
