I thought it was the best of the 5 Fenway shows. The new stuff sounded great. The section I was in was into it.

Looks like Never Destination was traded for Blood - I would have honestly rather had Never Destination to an extent, but Blood was pretty crazy when it came on (I think he played it for a doctor, maybe a hematologist? I dunno he was like "Okay we'll play the song"). I don't love Blood and I do like Gigaton and never got to hear much of it live, but yeah, it was still really cool hearing Blood knowing they don't really play it anymore.

Release was solid as was DM and IMT. Felt like Setting Sun was the hero tonight
SoF, ReRe, and Just Breathe need to go. You can feel the crowds energy shift. Something Special was strange live. This might have been the final full band performance though if history serves
I’d love to see a seated to standing Setting Sun though. That song is great live and is a natural transition between an Ed solo song and a rocking encore

Did Eddie punch Stone or something?

Why do you think it's the final full band performance?
Anyway I think Just Breathe always gets a very good reception, it's a popular song

The formula seems to be like:
4-5 from Ten
2 from VS
2-3 from Vitalogy
2-3 from Node Code and/or Yield
2-3 covers
You are at like 14-15 songs out of 26 and you haven’t gotten to Binaural, Riot Act, Avocado, Backspacer, LB, and Gigaton. So future selections off of Dark Matter will be limited and they’ll probably keep to the singles, Stevie, and Won’t Tell

I’m not sure “crowd energy” is a good metric to gauge which songs should be kept in the set.
Sometimes it’s good for people to hear Cropduster, whether they want to or not.
(If this happens at Melbourne 2, all the better.)

Glad that never destination is not dead, hoping to catch it at Melbourne, I’d prefer take the long way but I assume that one is no chance

Good show!
PRAMG moment: Eddie giving thanks to his buddy Sam Kennedy, who is a big corporate executive for the Red Sox.
But that was balanced out by recognition of the cow guy, so it was all good

So right before they played Tremor Christ in Baltimore, Ed pointed out the sign being held up by a Hematologist requesting Blood. He said "we aren't going to play that but here's another one we don't play very often."
I'm guessing that guy made it to the Boston show. I guess in order to have Get Right played, I need to go to back to back shows so Ed sees my sign for it one night, then plays at the next show.

Nah. Even if Blood sounded "good", Ed can't sing it like he used to. I heard it in 2016 and it was rough even then. Never Destination slays live, I would have rather had that.

Yes
But playing all these requests is going to start an attention seeking arms war in the fan base

Also, I really have no interest in hearing Blood in 2024.

the War on Drugs played Great Woods on Saturday, and did not have a show last night, and Adam is originally from Massachusetts and was a PJ fan as a kid. And then a War on Drugs song was played during the intermission, so I really started to suspect a guest spot a la the Buffalo Tom guy or Bronson Arroyo in the past. But alas, no.
