In total there are 475 users online :: 2 registered, 1 hidden and 472 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)

I can see that the "view active topics" is gone. What else is being done? How about changing the board temporary so that only registered users can see the content?

Oh I know it's not trag, I guess I'm just disappointed that he chose to delete his whole past on this board. Then again he did share a lot more about himself than I have, and if the data now ends up to god knows who, I also kind of understand him.

Anyway I would consider making the board content available only for registered users. I might be wrong, but I understood that it would prevent situations like the one we have now.

Also, GreenHabit has been running Cloudflare. I don't know what that is, but it appears to be helping.

What is the problem exactly? DDOS attack? Out of date programming? Too much old junk on the board that admins refuse to dump?

There was a suggestion that the script Trag ran to mass-edit his posts was causing the performance issues, but I don't think that holds up

He did that a long time ago anyway.

Based on the amount of active guest users I''d say it's a DDOS attack of some sort. Either somebody is scraping the data with bots, or someone else is targeting us on purpose. I mean we had 5970 active users online on Thursday. How many of us are left here? There's like 20 middle age men here on a good day.

And the trag thing was a joke. His script might have had some effect on the performance, but you could simply check the timestamps of the posts he has modified to see when he did that and if those match with the board slowness.

Hopefully this is over soon. Somebody should make a poll about hiding the content from guests.

Do the mods have any more info about what happened? I'm sure you can see more details e.g. from which IP addresses the traffic comes from, what's the browser id of the guests accessing the site etc.
