Saw Mando last night and this today. Felt like going from some straight-to-video Van Damme movie to Terminator 2. This is a great movie. Felt long? Try the Odyssey. I wished I was one of his men by the time he got back to Ithaca.

- Punisher is the hospital scenes. He’s one of the most notorious killers in the country. He has a hidden boat hideout so the authorities can’t find him. Yet, he can sit there in the waiting room and then hang out in Pete’s actual room for days? That makes no sense at all.
Having Yelena there instead would have been better.
I saw this in IMAX and was totally worth it when Spidey swung through the city.
They spent way too much time in flashbacks.

Saw this it was good. Kids loved it. Not sure I would have made Jean a psycho from the jump it kinda ruins the impact of when she goes nuts as Phoenix but why bother thinking about and mapping that sort of stuff out?

Probably.
But I think laying the groundwork by giving her this kind of backstory makes the Phoenix stuff more interesting/believable. I think it heightens the impact. Planting those seeds is better storytelling, I think.

I'm not sure they were seeds they were full grown trees she murdered a bunch of innocent people after her sister taught her to mind rape people lol. She's the Purple Man basically. I would think a good person corrupted by absolute power would heighten the impact more than an awful person getting more awful.

To be clear, I haven't seen the movie. I was only thinking in terms of how good storytelling should work. Execution is a different thing, admittedly.

i think the only way jean gets redeemed is that she learns from her past. Really the only person she murdered though I am not sure it was confirmed was the guy hit by the car/bus
mostly all the others that she harmed were part of Damage Control who arent exactly nice people

Look I get the writers can say that and sure I can go with it no one died but the amount of destruction with that tank and when half a building fell down with the Hulk stuff....I mean no one got seriously horribly life chargingly hurt? I get it its a dumb comic book movie but they could have been a little more thoughtful if the plan is to make her a hero.

Every defense lawyer in the country should be trying to get you to jury duty ASAP. Jean and her sister were chilling in the park experimenting with mind rape on human beings for fun before Damage Control did anything.
