I suspect he would have gotten at least a warning for that.stip wrote:Well I guess we did ban him...
The only people I see get slaughtered are people who appear generally crazy.Lament wrote:I don't get people who come on here and like "EVERYONE IS MEAN TO ME CAUSE I'M NEW."
I didn't fucking join till like March. Sarge came after me. LetMeSleep wasn't long before me. I know some other pretty active posters are recent as well. I can't speak for all of us, but I didn't find this to be an unwelcoming place. If you say something stupid, you get called on it or just ignored. If you say something insightful/funny/interesting/witty/engaging, people are responsive*. What the hell is so difficult to understand about that?
*Except for random amazing comments like The Blast Zone & "Flip your sister over - problem solved," which everyone should feel bad for not appreciating.
Haha, that was fun.B wrote:Or the most recent real example I remember is the dude coming over here to talk about how he called Jeff at home and complain because Jeff was rude about it.
Was this the "Jeff stole my basketball" post?theplatypus wrote:Haha, that was fun.B wrote:Or the most recent real example I remember is the dude coming over here to talk about how he called Jeff at home and complain because Jeff was rude about it.

Say, I think I'll join a Metallica board and forever harp on about how the later albums can never match the majesty of the earlier period. Oh, and I'll do it ad infinitum ad nauseam because that adds a lot to the current discussion.
And you don't have friends online?
And as for the other my point still stands. There are people here who have hated the band's output for over ten years. Thus, I find their predictable contributions boring.
That was weird...B wrote:The only people I see get slaughtered are people who appear generally crazy.Lament wrote:I don't get people who come on here and like "EVERYONE IS MEAN TO ME CAUSE I'M NEW."

"I like [insert album or song here]," feeds into the general debate.
"I got banned from the Pit because I shared pictures of the sculpture of I carved of Eddie giving Stone fellatio in honor of Earth Day," tends to get mocked.
Or the most recent real example I remember is the dude coming over here to talk about how he called Jeff at home and complain because Jeff was rude about it.
There's this weird scenario happening on the forum where if you criticise the band for anything, you'll get trolled, but if you praise any of the new material or the band for anything new, you'll get trolled. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. The only universally acceptable response on RM seems to be "Meh".B wrote:It's not just new people. Look at harmless getting crucified in the Lightning Bolt thread for complaining about Eddie's head banging.
You had negative comments about the music?harmless wrote:And then people say stuff like "I have no idea what harmless feels about PJ / the new album" just because I give both positive and negative comments. It's like some people can't cope with nuances.
Yeah, a few. Most of my general impressions about the music have been positive, but either way, I'm surprised anyone has no idea what I think.Chris_H_2 wrote:You had negative comments about the music?harmless wrote:And then people say stuff like "I have no idea what harmless feels about PJ / the new album" just because I give both positive and negative comments. gems and rhinestones wrote:I have been on both boards for many years. I can give an honest view of both forums. The 10club forum have a lot of posters who don't know much about the band beyond Eddie Vedder. I have met people who have been a fan since the early 90's who have no idea who Stone Gossard is. Several members are more into pre-parties for the shows than the actual concerts, yet they will do anything to get tickets near the front including fuck one another.
This board has music lovers. And assholes.
