When I was younger I was into sports as much as any other high school/college age guy. I followed football (college and pro) and even a little bit on basketball come playoff time or the odd year the Hawks were at least decent. But in the 2010s my interest in general started to wane. I can tell you if the Braves won last night or how the Hawks are doing in general (dreg this season) but I don't follow either on a game by game basis. Football is different because there's only one game a week but I don't feel as connected to the Falcons or Bulldogs; there's lots of stuff going on during the weekends from September-New Year's. When Georgia lost the title game to Alabama it felt like regular season loss to Auburn or Florida; it didn't sting like it would have probably just a few years before.
While my interest had already decreased there is one moment where I can say it turned the corner and it occurred to me this weekend: Atlanta's absolute implosion in the Super Bowl. The biggest collapse on the biggest stage in sports and it was my team. It hurt then and I just have not cared as about any of it since then.
I know Atlanta United won the MLS title last year but I never followed soccer and I certainly don't have an attachment to a team that is only it's third year compared to ones that are older than me.

Fuck Sports sound like a great way to get exercise and have sex. How do we monetize this idea

Fuck the MLB, NHL, and NBA. No one wants to see some lame tourney or short season. Just call it and get ready to make next year safe and great.
