It is one of the dirtiest and sexiest albums of all time.

To be fair, Bono has very actively held Lou Reed on a pedestal since day one. Perhaps more than any other artist (with the possible exception of David Bowie).

Right, which is why I'm waiting for his 8000-word essay

"Run, Run, Run" was my first Velvet song at age 18. Its rawness was so cool. Blew me away.

I'm not sure if you're being facetious or not, but I would imagine that if he does write and release something, it will probably be a really nice, really appropriate piece. If you've watched any of his RRHOF induction speeches or his Sinatra speech from the mid-90's, he's really excellent at this type of thing.

Cool. I won't read it. I'm just annoyed at his apparent need to insert himself into the legacy of every dead musician he ever crossed paths with.

Yeah, it's fucked up that a guy who grew up listening to and being inspired by these guys, only to later become friends with them and know them on a personal level would want to talk about them and their legacy. What a fucking cock.

Platypus has a point...i was very very angry at him just because he appeared in that Arcade Fire special. "HEY IM BONO IM COOL".

It stands to reason that someone who doesn't like Bono would be annoyed by his tribute-special ubiquity.

U2 sucks, and Bono really is the spokesperson on everything.

It was another dick move by him to bring them on tour with them in 2005. I can't believe he forced them against their will to open for them and join them on stage to cover Love Will Tear Us Apart.

I like more than a few U2 songs. It's Bono that annoys the crap out of me.

He definitely just shows up uninvited to these events or videos or whatever and forces himself onto camera, or breaks into magazine headquarter to force them to publish things he writes about other artists. It's definitely not a case of people reaching out and asking him to do these things, and him doing them out of deference/respect/admiration for the subjects.
