I didn't realise that Jack Irons had officially left the Wallflowers a few months ago.

Do you think jack irons would be able to play these 3 hour shows they've been doing? Wasn't he having trouble playing long shows with them before? They're touring less, but still.

I personally don't think shorter shows would be a bad thing but I really don't know; Jack seems healthier now than when he left the band, for what it's worth.

I think we should just come to terms with Matt being the Pearl Jam drummer until the end of time. If Pearl Jam make an album in 2020, it will be with Matt Cameron.

I didn't remember that part, just the " our new drummer, his name is jack" part, i guess maybe naming a band member in a song is right behind tattooing a girlfriends name for riskiest/dumbest thing to do

Depending on who the drummer is it could be a pretty special experience seeing SG in 2014.

this affirms for real that Matt's priority is PJ... and my dreams of a Matt full-time return to SG are gonezo.

So for a temporary period next summer, we'll have 2 great bands, PJ and SG, both of which have a drummer that doesn't make sense for them

SG reunion was good while it lasted. It's just a matter of time before touring with this new weirdo leads to writing songs with this new weirdo leads to recording albums with this new weirdo

so if Matt's really gonna be PJ's full-time drummer (no i have never actually considered him PJ's real drumer, until today; because as dave chappelle said, a man is as faithful as his options, and now that Matt has an option, he is actually choosing PJ, it means he actually is PJ's drummer), a few requests, rookie:

-loosen up your snare drum. it's too fucking tense for pj

-slow the fuck down. even flow is not supposed to sound like a trebly chinese person on cocaine. it is supposed to be a steady mellow funky black man. quit rushing through songs. and make your drum solo at the end of even flow longer, honkey.

-stop cutting jams short. e.g, play daughter, longer, and with more soul, and with more hi hat and cymbal detail. i.e. listen to how dave A played it, and play it like him, because i want you to know, as PJ's new permanent drummer, you will always be compared to dave A, and you can never fill his shoes.

-never play chloe/crown of thorns ever again. you are retarded when it comes to this

- if this is your full time job, try to contribute something and get a song on the new album, rather than just showing up, bludgeoning your tom toms with caveman-like 5B caveman clubs; then butchering dave A's songs live, then collecting a 12 figure paycheck

-listen to what Jeff is doing and actually develop a rapport with him. he is your bassist
