I think he meant to say "I was a very very well payed slave to him".

I like how your narrative in this thread went from "come on, it's just their relationship" to "guy was an idiot and deserved to be fired".gems and rhinestones wrote:I think he meant to say "I was a very very well payed slave to him".
Cool how that worked isn't ittheplatypus wrote:I like how your narrative in this thread went from "come on, it's just their relationship" to "guy was an idiot and deserved to be fired".gems and rhinestones wrote:I think he meant to say "I was a very very well payed slave to him".
One of Ed's all-time best-friends was Johnny Ramone, a gun-supporting Republican.stupidmop wrote:Even if this dude was his guitar tech no way they were ever friends.
I kinda don't remember saying he deserved to be fired. I said I think it's hilarious he got fired because he's a moron. I also thought I said "I think" that's just how their relationship is. But I get what you're sayintheplatypus wrote:I like how your narrative in this thread went from "come on, it's just their relationship" to "guy was an idiot and deserved to be fired".gems and rhinestones wrote:I think he meant to say "I was a very very well payed slave to him".
But also like you mention, Johnny Ramone was Ed's best friend and I've heard from people that Johnny loved Ed to death. I don't believe for a second he "warned" Rick to watch out for Ed. I don't think the person who has that account knows how much Ed and Johnny loved each other. He should have went with a different Ramone and not Johnny. But who knows.theplatypus wrote:One of Ed's all-time best-friends was Johnny Ramone, a gun-supporting Republican.stupidmop wrote:Even if this dude was his guitar tech no way they were ever friends.
Yet he managed his horrible behavior for 17 years.theplatypus wrote:With the huge caveat that I have no idea how these people treat each other, it doesn't seem that far fetched. I'm well aware of how problematic my best friend can be, and if another friend of mine were to start working for him, I'd probably let them know. "Good luck. He can be an asshole sometimes."
Ted nugent though. For president though.theplatypus wrote:stupidmop wrote:Even if this dude was his guitar tech no way they were friendsOne of Ed's all-time best-friends was Johnny Ramone, a gun-supporting Republican.

So you think some fan followed the life story of this guitar tech, posed as him on Facebook for 5 years with check-ins, pictures and status updates? I mean, Pearl Jam fans are fucking weird, but I don't know.stupidmop wrote:I give up. I still think its fake.
Also the way you're saying it is in passing and off the cuff. Your not gonna remember a simple comment 17 years later. This guy is saying it like Johnny told him Ed has horrible issues and I'm warning you not to work for him. One, I don't believe Johnny would have said something like that about Ed. Two, if he did say it, yet he's cool enough to work with for 17 years then maybe the guy is just bitter and trying to think of a way to make it dramatic and not his fault.theplatypus wrote:With the huge caveat that I have no idea how these people treat each other, it doesn't seem that far fetched. Whether it's true or not, it's very unprofessional to bring up in a public forum. About as unprofessional as how Ed treated him on stage that night (which, I guess, itself was as unprofessional as not being able to tune a fucking guitar).gems and rhinestones wrote:Also the way you're saying it is in passing and off the cuff. Who said it's a fan?
