I don't subscribe to that theory.

I think the influence is more apparent in the other direction; Courtney's influence is all over Kurt's In Utero lyrics (see: Heart-Shaped Box, Pennyroyal Tea, etc.) I'm sure two songwriters living together will naturally influence one another to a degree.

Corgan definitely helped out during Celebrity Skin. He claimed as much during one of his Twitter wars with Courtney.

Its true that Beeswax and and Swap Meet are two great Nirvana songs. I also love Aero Zeppelin, Big Long Now, Paper Cuts and Hairspray Queen, especially the choruses.
