I'm late to the party (just like real game night), but I also like Settlers, Pandemic, and weird card games- we have one called Kittens in a Blender that my daughter likes to play- we are usually playing with another family with a 12 year old so we've got to have some easier games.

I skip game night a lot because they like to do it on Friday nights and my brain is usually fried by the time I get off of work and thinking / learning a new game when my mind is exhausted isn't fun. But Saturdays are a whole different ballgame, so that's the day I am more likely to go.

i went to the library yesterday and there were a group of nerds gathered around a table playing board games...settlers of catan (one of the players was nationally ranked) and 7 wonders were the only ones i was familiar with

it was all guys except one girl in the middle...while not really attractive, she definitely did not have the nerd look...do you guys think the nerds all ra*led on her after they were done building the longest road?

I've played it before but I couldn't tell you the rules now. I remember enjoying it though.

My wife and I have games nights all the time, complete with a trophy and winners each night. We have a ton of games, but there are a handful that get played all the time and a few more we might as well get rid of. Any suggestions for group games that don't take forever to play?

I love Trivial Pursuit, but the version we have is from about 1998 or so, which kind of sucks. We've bought a few new versions over the years but they only seem to come with a few cards, while the old versions all have tons. It's frustrating to not be able to find a better, updated version.

My group of friends and I try to have a Euchre night every week. I could play for days straight.

I love that game. Depending on your partner it can be an emotional roller coaster though.
