Agreed. It's coming I think. I could see 10 and the elimination of conference title games.

I like the randomness of conference title games sometimes.

Agreed and they are money makers. I could see a day where they don't exist anymore. Especially with playoffs and bigger conferences.

All that being said about the PAC-12...

The winner and loser of the SEC title game will still get into the playoff. Jerks.

Fine by me as good as that conference is.

No they won't, the loser is going to the Sugar Bowl still and they'll probably lose because no one wants to be in that game anymore

Depends on how much the SEC West beats up on each other. If there are two one loss teams at the end of the season and one moves on to win the SEC championship game, I could see both making the playoff. Similar to Auburn and Alabama last year.

I am like a kid at Christmas right now with all this bullshit going down at USC.

Over/Under on Sark's tenure? 3 games into his 3rd season. Taking bets now, PM me.

I bet my boss $10 on the South Carolina/A&M game. Fuck my life. I'm going back to bed for a few hours. :shake:

If not the winner and loser I will be shocked if there are not 2 SEC teams in the Final Four. Like even two from the same division.

I really think this could be the death blow to conference title games. They essentially serve no purpose besides money now.

Too much money being made for the conference championships to go away. That's why they have them in basketball, right?
Little surprised to see South Carolina get blown out at home.

My boss was at the South Carolina game last night and he is a huge fan. He's going to be in a bad mood today.

I had a very somber dinner last night with 3 South Carolina grads.

I'm not shocked A&M's offense is good. More surprised how overwhelmed the Gamecocks looked. They absolutely no pass rush.

Yeah, I would expect two teams from the west division, if anything. Unless Georgia actually decides to be good and not have a hundred injuries. Much more likely you have a one-loss team in the west that doesn't get to the SEC title game, but still sneaks into the playoffs.

Right but hoops would be a different animal. There you have some teams fighting to get in the dance. Teams seeded like 5-8 are usually NIT bound unless they can do some damage or win the whole thing. I like conference tourneys in basketball for that aspect. It's one last shot to make the dance. Georgia comes to mind winning 4 games in 3 days and making the dance with a 17-16 record and a 4-12 record overall. You don't get a scenario like that in football.

There was once a conference realignment scenario I concocted where I had four conferences each split in two divisions, with nine teams in each division. I had a 12-team playoff in which each conference champion got a first round bye. That would be a way to make those games actually mean a lot while still keeping them lucrative. I'll have to see if I can dig out that realignment.

I was just reminded that the playoff selection committee includes Tyrone Willingham, and the whole system is therefore already fucked.

Haha I really liked him. Not a good coach but something about him was awesome. Kinda like he was your Dad. I can see why you hate him. I hate Bill Callahan for the same reason.

All I can say is that you like many others have been fooled. He is a piece of shit all the way around.
