I like the 2006 rearrangement of Garden.

I don't know if it counts as a different arrangement, but I really love that version of Black they played at Bridge School a few years back with the string section. I guess maybe the arrangement was the same, except for the addition of the strings, but it definitely had a cool, new rhythm to it. Was it a different time signature? Whatever it was, I loved it.

"Garden '06" really only strikes me as a "rearrangement" in the most literal sense, i.e. taking the existing parts of the song and moving them around into a different order. Apart from using that plodding bridge riff as an intro in lieu of the arpeggios, and dropping the drums out for the first chorus, it's pretty much identical to the normal version. Not so much a "rearrangement" per se as much as a novel, if relatively pointless, attempt at tinkering. I don't mind it, but would maintain that it offers nothing particularly compelling that is separate from the original.

Was this the 2003 version without the drum tom intro?
The biggest PJ crime I have witnessed was for them to bring Jack up in Santa Barbara 2003 to play that bastardized version. Wasted opportunity if I ever seen one. Hail Hail was masterful though.

Fuck, I remember when that shitty version of "In My Tree" was the standard version for a while and everybody was talking about how great it was. Thank god they went back to the original.

I really like that shitty version of In My Tree. The Live at the Garden version is a particular favorite.
