Ed made the odd comment equating the LB songs to a "flophouse" and kicking them out so the new tenants (songs) can move in. He's made comments like this before...and, yet its 4 years before the new "tenants" move in.

He could have written 3000 songs since then, maybe they all sucked. Or he kicked them out before deciding what to do with them.

Not really. He's always writing. Just takes a long time for his not as talented band mates to grasp his vision for the next one and learn the songs he's written.

hopefully not many solo and side projects will get in the way between Lightning Bolt and this one. And PJ20 won't hold things up.

To be fair, I'm still trying to grasp his vision for the last two records. And my ambivalence about the music contained therein has prevented me from learning any of the songs. So I can see where they're coming from.
