The only part of that story that's true is the part where the cashier made a joke about CD's being outdated. I just laughed and joked back that I grew up on CD's and would never give up on them. The girl meant no ill will; my lasting impression of the exchange is finding it funny that I am now old enough to be clinging on to outmoded technology. I figured my last response would serve as clarification that my first post was a joke.

I've spent a lot of years in retail jobs, I usually don't even complain when the situation warrants it. They say that for every customer who complains there are ten who say nothing, and for things like that I am usually happy to be one of the ten. To the contrary, I make an effort to report positive experiences let the negative ones roll off my back -- I figure the rest of the world has the bitching covered.
