WB has irrevocably fucked this franchise. I gave up already.

I'm taking my nephew to see bumblebee tomorrow. My only consolation is that at least he didn't want to see Aquaman.

i liked it. didnt spend a lot on a boring origin. didnt take itself too seriously and had a lot of fun with it. the special effects were really good. the dialogue wasnt too bad and there wasnt anything said or done that a person with no knowledge of the character couldnt follow along with

You know what, the movie was just alright. Some parts here and there that showed promise but lots of quipping. Like, I thought the Marvel movies were bad but this just had some quips. "Oh, Pinocchio was a book? How about that. I saw the movie." Just...weird humor.
And the credit stinger was so far out in left field that I have no idea what it was about, or what it might mean. And I read the IGN article that explained it.

for better or worse they should have had lex find Black Manta that way do the slow build towards the legion of doom
i see folks saying claim its a different universe that they are in and pretend JL didnt happen but mera commented on him helping take down stepanwolf so im not sure the general movie audience is ready for multiverse stories just yet
i thought it was very visually stunning and it looks like DC is finally figuring the SFX angle to their movies. i adored the orange and green armor at the end

I would have liked that...but they need a new Lex.
The armor was pretty great, even the talking to the fishes was done well.

I do wish that two of the 'trailers' released for the movie weren't extended scenes. The one in the desert and the one on the rooftops, specifically. I really liked the rooftop scene, especially the editing done to make it look so active.
And wasn't one of his powers that if he's wet he's stronger, therefore he's almost powerless in the desert? Or am I thinking of Percy Jackson?
The little nod to Lovecraft was fun. (there's a Lovecraft book under the snow globe at the beginning)

You're thinking of Namor. The undersea king of Atlantis Mamoa actually does look like.

Saw it yesterday. Its another minor comic book movie from a character i really dont care....but the movie looks awesome. There are some cool action scenes with Wan having so much fun its refreshing...and the cgi is great. The color, the depths, the ocean scenes...Patrick Wilson steals the movie.

Is there anything Weezer’s drummer cannot do?

The trench scene was fucking badass, with them escaping from those monster creatures with the flare gun. I wanted more of that.
The action scenes were often really beautiful, but the film is filled with rushed exposition, awkward story beats and nonsensical/under-explained character motivations. Good effort from James Wan. Could've been really good.
WHY does the little Italian girl hand Amber Heard a Pinocchio book?! That didn't make any sense at all!
