Watched the S2 premiere last night. Mrs. DCT is loving the show. I knew she would. I didn't notice the first time through that everyone in the sheriff's department mispronounces Albert's name all the time. :haha:

Nice touch.

S2E1 still scares the living shit out of me. I barely slept last night. And goddamn I love Pete Martell.

I've almost never seen my wife enjoying television so much. She said, "This might be my favorite scene of TV, ever. No, EVER."

She's not wrong.

My wife had that moment during Northern Exposure reruns and 30 Rock. She liked TP but not as much as I did.

It's an acquired taste, for sure. I knew she'd take issue with things in Twin Peaks, but that the humor and warmness in people like Lucy and Andy and Pete would win her over. It's the perfect level of weird for her, too. I'm interested so see how she reacts to some of the shit that's about to go down in S2.

Has she seen Fire Walk With Me?

No. We're doing the show first.

Looks like S3 might premiere at Sundance and air on Showtime in late April!

Wife and I are now at the end of what I think of as "Season 2." Just finished episode nine of S2. She loved how those 9 episodes flowed and wrapped up. Now we're getting into the part of the series that divides the fan base. I'm really interested to see how she reacts and what she thinks of these next handful of episodes.

If she approaches that part of the series with the same sort of fascination, curiosity and admiration that Agent Cooper has for the people and the town of Twin Peaks, she'll come out on the other side of it just aces.

This is extremely good advice. I'll pass this along tonight. Word for world. Thank you, Reid.

I forgot how nuanced and stylistic the episode Diane Keaton directed was. Really strong episode. But HOLY FUCK S2E18 'On The Wings of Love' is just outstanding. No small coincidence that the episode that features David Lynch the most since he basically handed over the show is the strongest since. Great episode.

My wife turned to me after the end of the S2E17 and said, "What the fuck was that?! WHY DO I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH?!"

And this morning before I left for work, she gave me a big Dale Cooper smile and a thumbs up. Warmed me all the way to the bottom. I love that she's loving this so much.

MAN, I LOVE TWIN PEAKS!

So, I'm trying to figure out if there are any parallels between the storyline and the goings on from this soap opera everyone in Twin Peaks seems to watch.

Sort of. But it's not something to spend too much time worrying about. Notice it, chuckle, and move along. It's not worth dissecting. It's very loose.
